Going with the flow

So much has been going on here I feel like a chicken with its head cut off

I attended a board meeting for the school the kids go to about a month ago and holy crap it wasn’t pleasent..probably would have been better off not attending as all it did is piss me off. I’m so glad I PAY for this experience lol. Too bad no other good school options unless I have 4 hours a day to dedicate to driving them back and forth and public schools are NOT an option here.

The kids just went back to school today after 10 days off for Thanksgiving. We had a great Thanksgiving. We setup all the Christmas decorations on Friday. Now the countdown until Christmas! I only have a few things left to get thankfully :)

Arggggg

It’s been a heck of a week. One of my best friends was in an accident a week ago. She shattered her pelvis & ruptured her spleen. Thankfully none of the kids were hurt in the accident. I have been trying to help out where I can. She should be coming home any day now. Her mom came up to stay through Thanksgiving which is awesome.

I have my last final for the semester tommorrow then, I have 11 weeks off until my spring semester starts. I figure it can’t be any better timing as I will be able to take her kids to and from school with mine and go over during the day to help out with anything I can. I figure it will be so much easier on her mom as she won’t have to worry about trying to cordinate all of that. Her doctors said she won’t be able to put any weight on her legs for at least the next 8 weeks so she has a very long recovery ahead.

We had the birthday party for our oldest yesterday & it was a blast. I was able to get “grandma” to bring over my friends kids they had a blast and really needed to get out of the house. It was quite fun to watch them all decorate their own cupcakes…I didn’t know it was possible to stack that many sprinkles on a single cupcake!

Well back to studying for me!

Whewwww!

Apparently time has slipped by faster than I realized!

It has been seriously insane around here for the last week and I have a very busy week coming up.

Last weekend was the annual bazaar for the boys’ school. They had a blast and I was able to score a blueberry bundt cake that was so yummy! (Not that I really needed it lol)

The boys only had 3 days of school last week, I of course had school on the days they were home which bummed me out.  So of course they were very wound up and out of routine by the time I got home.

Our oldest will be 7 this week so I have been trying to get everything finished up so I am not stressing out for the next week. Time sure does fly!!!! He’s becoming quite the wonderful little man. I’m very proud of him and lucky to be his mommy.

I am starting back on my atkins diet and walking with mom everyday next week too. I am feeling sluggish, I think in part due to the non stop rain and the crap I’ve been eating due to my schedule. I hope it will help!

Some good news- We finally got the letter from unemployment saying hubby’s benefits will finally kick in next week! Whoohoooo only took 2 months lol.

Well I am either going to write my report or go to bed, I haven’t decided which yet….I think my bed may win this time though as I am pretty pooped out!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Let the weekend begin!

I have the flu yeah!! The kiddos brought it home from school to me, gotta love it! I have a ton of studying to do for my test on Monday & have a report to write. It’s actually on an interesting topic so it shouldn’t be too terrible. Good excuse to veg out as any I guess!

The good news is the bathroom got finished yesterday. The only thing left is repainting the trim around the window & ceiling. That probably won’t be until sometime next week as frankly, I don’t see myself leaving the house at all this weekend.

So excited!

My hubby & dad finished laying all the tile in our bathroom today. They did the floor, 3/4 up the walls, and the shower. It is really looking sharp! Tommorrow they will grout everything & on Thursday they will put in my new lights, vanity/sink, & mirror. So I should have my bathroom back on Friday! I can’t wait!!

Yeah!!

100% on my test today!! Whoohoooo :)

Just had to share!

Get over it!

I’m sure you all know someone like this!

Do you ever notice some people have nothing better to do than to try to bring others down? Notice I say TRY…..

I am really quite tired of those that think they are better than everyone.

Apparently they are still stuck in their highschool mentality and haven’t figured out how to grow up and become something for themselves!

Proof is in the pudding…..so sorry we’re out of pudding.

Now for some humor…..

Same old….

Not much been going on here lately. It’s rained for the better part of a week which makes for hyper children. They are both doing well in school so far no flu bugs here. I am taking them Friday to get their regular flu shots.

I’ve been busy with school and actually really enjoying all of the subjects we are currently covering. I am still waiting for my grade from the test I took on Monday to be posted. It’s driving me nuts! I am pretty confident about it but, hate the waiting game!

My husband has been laid off for a month now. I must say my house is so organized since he’s been home! I actually love having him home. We found out a new environmental plant will be built in the area soon so he applied for a few management positions there. Crossing our fingers! His unemployment has been held up by some typo…they said it can take another 4 weeks to be fixed. Got to love it! I am not sure if any other states are like this but, in Louisiana we no longer have actual UI offices. They have one phone number for the entire state…..3 hours+ on hold gets old very fast! I guess it goes to show everyone is cutting everywhere still. Should get mighty interesting as I know we still haven’t bottomed out in this recession. Makes me appreciate my family & friends so much more in times like these!

Back to the books for me!
